Complete Description
A pear-cut lab-grown diamond engagement ring framed by a halo of pavé diamonds, with pavé continuing down both sides of the band. The pear shape — with its rounded base and pointed tip — wears longer on the finger than a round of equivalent carat weight, and the halo extends the visual size of the center stone by roughly 30%.
Available in 18k yellow, white, or rose gold, in 2-30 carat weights starting at $1890. Every diamond is DEF color and VS clarity with an excellent cut grade.
Pear orientation and how the ring sits
A pear-cut engagement ring is traditionally worn with the point (the apex of the pear) facing toward the fingernail rather than the wrist. This orientation visually elongates the finger and aligns with the bridal convention dating back centuries. The halo on this ring is designed to follow the asymmetric pear silhouette — slightly larger at the rounded base, narrower at the point — preserving the cut's distinctive geometry.
How it pairs with a wedding band
A pear-cut halo with pavé band creates one of the trickier wedding band pairings because the asymmetric silhouette means straight bands sit unevenly against the engagement ring. Three approaches work well:
- A contoured (curved) wedding band shaped to nest against the pear and halo — most popular option
- A thin pavé eternity band worn slightly offset
- Two thin plain or pavé bands worn stacked on either side of the engagement ring, framing it visually

A pear-cut diamond has a rounded base that tapers to a point — sometimes called a teardrop shape. It wears longer on the finger than a round diamond of equivalent carat weight, which can elongate the appearance of the hand. Pears were popularized in the 15th century by Flemish gem cutter Lodewyk van Bercken and have become one of the more distinctive engagement ring cuts in modern bridal jewelry.
The traditional orientation is point toward the fingernail (away from the wrist), which visually lengthens the finger. We set every pear in this orientation by default. If you'd prefer the opposite orientation, please specify when ordering.
Pear-cut engagement rings have an asymmetric silhouette that makes wedding band pairing more deliberate than round rings. The most popular pairings are: a contoured wedding band shaped to nest against the pear, a thin pavé eternity worn slightly offset, or two thin bands stacked on either side framing the engagement ring. Yes. Lab-grown diamonds are chemically, physically, and optically identical to mined diamonds — the only difference is how they're produced. They're graded on the same 4Cs standard (cut, color, clarity, carat weight) and have the same hardness (Mohs 10) and brilliance.
